Delco Remy International Adds Batteries to Popular Road Gang System in Agreement with GNB TechnologiesANDERSON, Ind., July 29 -- Delco Remy America (DRA), a subsidiary of Delco Remy International introduces a new line of batteries called Road Gang(TM) Batteries. This new line of battery will be featured in the highly popular and durable Road Gang Premium Electrical System. In addition, it will also be offered separately as a line of commercial batteries for DRA's heavy-duty aftermarket program. GNB Technologies has been selected as the exclusive supplier for this new battery program. The Road Gang Premium Electrical System, with the addition of the new Road Gang Battery, is the first electrical system in the industry to carry a three year/350,000 mile free replacement warranty. "The Delco Remy Road Gang is the preferred premium choice in the industry. Teaming up with GNB to add these new batteries to the system is one more step in our commitment to provide Best-in Class quality, value and service to our customers," stated DRA President Richard L. Stanley. Now the new Road Gang Premium Electrical System, used in over-the-road applications for both medium and heavy-duty vehicles, contains a heavy-duty brushless alternator, over-crank protection starter, low voltage disconnect, and a set of Road Gang Batteries. This system will be available as an option package on most new Class 8 trucks. GNB Technologies, a lead-acid battery manufacturer, will supply Road Gang Batteries to the original equipment and aftermarket programs, as well as a complementary line of batteries for mid-range automotive, industrial, agricultural and heavy-duty applications. The aftermarket batteries will be available through Delco Remy distributors and participating OE dealer organizations. GNB Technologies CEO Thomas O. Minner said, "This new contract with DRA is a result of hard work and cooperative spirit between both organizations. It is also a significant achievement in GNB's long-term growth plan built upon developing new products, new markets and new customers." The premium Road Gang Batteries, manufactured at GNB's QS9000 certified facility in City of Industry, California, have passed cycle-life testing that will exceed any high-cycle battery currently on the market. "This new Road Gang Battery has been designed to systematically match the duty cycle of today's trucks. This new Road Gang Battery, coupled with the industries' most durable starter and alternator specification, will allow fleet owners to have a low cost-per-mile electrical system, all from DRA," said Stanley.
