Federal-Mogul Appoints Michael J. Widgren, Director, Audit Services

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., July 28 -- Thomas W. Ryan, executive vice
president and chief financial officer, Federal-Mogul Corporation ,
announces the appointment of Michael J. Widgren to the position of director,
audit services, effective immediately.  Widgren will report to Ryan and will
join the Finance Leadership Team.  Widgren replaces Chip Mower who was
recently named director, Federal-Mogul Business Services.
    Widgren joined Federal-Mogul as audit manager, Americas, in January 1999.
He had previously held the position of controller with O/E Systems, a provider
of information technology hardware and systems.  Prior to this he worked in
public accounting with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was manager, business
assurance and led audit engagements with large automotive manufacturing
clients of the Detroit office.
    Widgren earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Michigan Sate
University and is also a Certified Public Accountant.
