Collins & Aikman Corporation Names Jonathan Peisner

Collins & Aikman Corporation Names Jonathan Peisner Senior Vice President Of Communications and Investor Relations
    DETROIT, July 28 -- Collins & Aikman Corporation
announced today that Jonathan Peisner has been named senior vice president of
corporate communications and investor relations. Peisner's appointment was
announced by Thomas E. Evans, chairman and chief executive officer of Collins
& Aikman Corporation.
    Peisner joins Collins & Aikman from Lear Corporation where he was director
- investor relations and business planning.  "We continue our aggressive plan
to increase shareholder value in Collins & Aikman," commented Evans. "The
addition of Peisner to our management team accelerates the corporation's
overall communication strategy and underscores our commitment to company
stockholders worldwide."
    Collins & Aikman is in the midst of a comprehensive restructuring program
that is integrating its once separate business components into an interior
systems products company.  The new structure is focused on serving the global
automotive industry in a more integrated fashion.
    "Peisner's a perfect fit for Collins & Aikman," explained Evans. "He
already intimately knows today's automotive industry, our customer base, and
our Company as a supplier to Lear Corporation.  He will greatly enhance our
program to further fortify Collins & Aikman's image in both the automotive
industry and investment community."
    Peisner, who developed award winning communications programs at Lear,
brings over 20 years of experience in the financial and investor relations
arena.
    Prior to working at Lear, he was assistant treasurer at Arbor Drugs, Inc.
and had previously served as manager of investor relations for MCN
Corporation, Detroit, Michigan.
    Peisner is a CPA, who earned his undergraduate degree at Michigan State
University and his MBA from Wayne State University.
