NASCAR Trucks: More Loudon 'Family Magic' for Wallace and the #2 Team ASE Ford?
29 July 1999
Mooresville, NC. July 29,1999. The Team ASE crew will have just enough time to get home from Michigan, work for a couple of days, and hit the road again for Loudon, New Hampshire for the Pennzoil 200. Ultra Motorsports carries two top five finishes in its history books at the New Hampshire International Speedway. Mike Wallace brings with him a coveted pole from his only NCTS run at NHIS, the 1998 NASCAR Craftsman Truck event. Completing the family history at NHIS, brothers Kenny and Rusty won the 1991 NASCAR BGN event here, Kenny as the driver, Rusty as car owner. Brother Kenny also owns a pole at NHIS. Will the successful family legacy continue for Mike here at Loudon? He is certainly hoping so . . . last year he finished fourteenth at NHIS and is looking to improve on the performance. "We have been in good positions to have solid finishes in the last few races, luck just hasn't been on our side," commented Wallace. The next two races are especially good tracks for me, so I have a ton of confidence going into these next two weeks." Team ASE Crew Update: Ultra Motorsports welcomes a new team member to the Team ASE crew this week. Master ASE-certified automotive technician Chris Dunn will join the team as a full-time race technician, and will travel on a limited basis with the team initially. Dunn, a recent engineering graduate from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, has been assisting the #2 Team ASE crew the past two seasons at the Tennessee races on his own time. Dunn may experience his debut as a tire carrier for the #2 Team ASE Ford as early as this week's Loudon race.
