ZAP Expands Workforce, Hires HR Manager

    SEBASTOPOL, Calif.--July 27, 1999--Electric vehicle manufacturer ZAPWORLD.COM (OTC BB:ZAPP) announced today that it has hired a human resource manager to assist with the expansion of its workforce, which has grown to 75 employees.
    Robinn Van Deusen joins ZAP as Manager of Human Resources. Van Deusen has more than 10 years experience in human resources, having worked locally in Sonoma County as human resources manager for Blood Bank of the Redwoods and as personnel supervisor for Express Personnel Services. An avid cyclist, Van Deusen once raced competitively, but now is a regular triathlon participant.
    "Since I joined ZAP in June, my number one goal has been to bring in more qualified, energetic individuals to complement the existing top-notch staff," said Van Deusen. "Due to recent large orders, we are currently looking for people in both electric bike and scooter production."
    ZAP has hired new employees mainly in the production of its electric bikes and scooters to meet growing demand. Sales for fiscal year 1998 were $3.5 million, up 115% over 1997 sales. Sales for the first quarter of fiscal year 1999 were $1.16 million up 152% over the same period in 1998.
