Exide's Sure Start to Provide Starters and Alternators in New Business Awarded By AutoZoneREADING, Pa., July 26 -- Sure Start, a division of Exide Corporation , has been awarded, by AutoZone, the rights to provide automotive starters and alternators to several AutoZone distribution centers. AutoZone is one of the nation's leading specialty retailers of automotive parts and accessories. According to Darby Rockney, senior vice president, sales and marketing for Exide's battery associated companies, the new business, which was finalized last month, will generate substantial new business for Sure Start. This is the first time AutoZone, operating 2,657 auto-parts outlets in 38 states, has purchased Exide Sure Start products. "This new business from AutoZone is a testament to the continuous quality control effort at our Cooper (TX) facility," Rockney explained. "This new business, when combined with recent business awarded to us by CSK Automotive and Strauss Discount Auto, further validates our position as an industry leader." Sure Start is one of the largest producers of remanufactured starters and alternators.
