Intrinsyc Secures Contract with Digital Electronics, Digital to incorporate Intrinsyc technologies into its Windows CE HMI terminals

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--July 26, 1999-- Intrinsyc (VSE:ICS.) today announced an agreement to provide Digital Electronics Corporation of Japan with design and support services under the Intrinsyc Partnership Program. One of the largest suppliers of Human Machine Interface (HMI) terminals for industrial automation applications and a new customer for Intrinsyc, Digital Electronics has also purchased development kits, custom software development services, and negotiated initial run-time licenses from Intrinsyc.
As one of Intrinsyc's OEM partners, Digital Electronics will be incorporating several Intrinsyc technologies into its line of HMI terminals for industrial automation.
"We selected Intrinsyc's technologies because they are available now, and are part of a framework of products that work extremely well together," says Masashi Ishikawa, Director and EMO in charge of R&D at Digital. "With Intrinsyc's technologies, our factory floor solution -- the Pro-Face HMI terminal -- will become further integrated into the Web, enabling our customers to quickly and easily access information from a standard Internet browser and link manufacturing and operations to the rest of the enterprise. Intrinsyc's connectivity solution will help us stay ahead of other market entrants."
"Companies like Digital are leading the way in the industrial automation market by incorporating open-standard Web capabilities into their Windows CE devices," said Guylain Roy-MacHabee, Intrinsyc's Vice President of Marketing. "Since Intrinsyc technologies are based on open standards, they lower maintenance costs and make it easier to add new functionality and interoperate with 3rd party applications. The big winner in this contract will be the end-users of Digital's HMI products, who stand to benefit from significantly improved business processes and reduced costs."
