TRW Completes Its Largest Baan Implementation to Date with Emergency One Go-Live

RESTON, Va.--July 22, 1999--TRW Integrated Supply Chain Solutions (ISCS) today announced it has completed its largest implementation of Baan ERP software for Emergency One, a member of the Fire Rescue Group and a worldwide manufacturer and marketer of fire rescue vehicles.
TRW's Baan implementation, which features 250 user licenses, was completed at Emergency One's facilities in Ocala, Fla. Planning is under way for other Fire Rescue Group facilities in Syracuse, N.Y., and Red Deer, Alberta, Canada.
Emergency One chose TRW primarily for its systems integration experience, Baan expertise and project management capabilities. The company's requirements for its ERP system included an integrated product configurator to improve throughput from order to production; a project costing system to efficiently identify, track and maintain expenses; multi-company support to allow affiliated companies access to the system; and service and warranty tracking to integrate with production systems.
TRW's Baan-certified consultants provided a custom solution, implementing a seamless system that will enhance communication and improve customer relations for Emergency One and its affiliates worldwide. The comprehensive system includes Internet connections, a product configurator that allows generation of custom BOMs, and multi-company, multi-currency support.
"TRW was able to meet all of our critical requirements and specific operational, technical and financial needs," said Kenneth Sweet, director of information technology for Emergency One. "With the Baan implementation, we have linked our finance, distribution and manufacturing departments and now have the capability to improve customer communication across our enterprise."
"TRW is seasoned in the use, application, implementation and integration of the Baan system," said Chuck Olinger, vice president for TRW's Baan Practice. "In addition to streamlining integration processes, we will help Emergency One fully tap into the Baan system's functionality and capitalize on all the benefits the system has to offer."
Emergency One considered enterprise resource planning systems from Dataworks, Peoplesoft, Oracle and Computer Associates before choosing Baan for its superior configuration and project manufacturing features. Emergency One plans to purchase 40 more users licenses for its New York facility, and an additional 30 for its plant in Canada. TRW is slated to complete the implementations.
