National Car Rental Named Official Car Rental Company of National Football League

    MINNEAPOLIS--JULY 22, 1999--

National Becomes Preferred Car Rental Provider of
Next Three Super Bowls, Pro Bowls

    National Car Rental today announced that it intends to become the official car rental company of the National Football League. The three-year program will include Super Bowl XXXIV in Atlanta in January 2000, Super Bowl XXXV in Tampa, Fla., Super Bowl XXXVI in New Orleans, and the 2000-2002 Pro Bowl games.
    In addition to National being the exclusive rental car provider to the National Football League, NFL Properties and the next three Super Bowl and Pro Bowl games, the program will include unique NFL promotions, programming tie-ins and national advertising opportunities.
    Through the alliance, National will also have access to NFL Properties' extensive database consisting of over five million names in addition to 150,000 e-mail addresses from NFL.com. Also, during the football season, NFL.com, one of the most popular sports sites on the Internet, will be hot-linked to National Car Rental's Web site.

"Our relationship with the NFL enhances our extensive sports media presence, which is recognized and visible at the premier sporting events around the world."

In addition, National's name sponsorship in 1998 of the National Car Rental Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., marked the first time a car rental company sponsored a sports center.
