business to new levels of performance," said John H. Weber, President of
AlliedSignal Friction Materials. "The European aftermarket is a key part of
our $1-billion global friction materials business. We look forward to growing
this business under Philippe's leadership, capitalizing on our great brands
and applying leading-edge electronic business solutions."
Before joining Cables Pirelli, James spent eight years at CEAC (Compagnie
Europeenne d'Accumulateurs), one of Europe's leading battery companies, where
he led the European aftermarket operations for Starter Battery. From 1974-87,
he held positions of increasing responsibility at Corning France, the French
subsidiary of Corning Glass Works.

products under the Bendix(R) brand globally, and under the JURID(TM) brand in
Europe and Asia.
