The Cobalt Group Names David Potts Vice President of Business Development

    SEATTLE--July 20, 1999--The Cobalt Group, the leading provider of Internet marketing solutions to automobile dealerships and manufacturers, has named David L. Potts vice president of business development, the company announced today.
    Potts will be responsible for expanding business development opportunities by establishing strategic relationships with Internet and automotive companies that facilitate company growth.
    "David is an outstanding addition to our management team," said John Holt, co-CEO of The Cobalt Group. "He has worked extensively in high-growth entrepreneurial companies like Cobalt to grow their revenues and client bases, so his background is a perfect fit for our needs."
    Prior to joining Cobalt, Potts was managing director of 2Bridge Software, overseeing sales, product management and professional service operations as it grew from six to more than 60 employees. Previously, he was vice president of multimedia business development for Dataware Technologies after it acquired Ledge Multimedia, a company co-founded by Potts.
    At Ledge Multimedia, Potts helped grow the company's revenue, managing sales marketing and business administration. He also worked as a management consultant for A.T. Kearney and as a financial analyst for General Electric.
    Potts graduated from the Fletcher School at Tufts University with a master's degree in international economics and from the University of Virginia with a bachelor's degree in history.
