Tata Timken Limited Name Changed to Timken India Limited
CANTON, Ohio, July 19 -- Following final government approval,
Tata Timken Limited has been renamed Timken India Limited.
Timken India Limited is now a subsidiary of The Timken Company and remains
headquartered in Jamshedpur, India.
The Timken Company applied for government approval to change the name

shares, Timken increased its stake to 80 percent. The Indian public will
continue to hold the remaining 20 percent equity.
The plant produces AP cartridge bearings for rail applications and tapered
roller bearings for trucks, farm tractors, and industrial applications.
The Timken Company (http://www.timken.com) is a leading international
manufacturer of highly engineered bearings and alloy steels with operations in
25 countries. The company employs about 21,000 people worldwide and reported
1998 sales of more than U.S. $2.6 billion.
