NVLA Executive Director Accepts Top Position at IADMA
DENVER, July 19 -- The Internet Auto Dealers Marketing
Association (IADMA) today announced that Rodney J. Couts will be the
organization's executive director. Couts has more than 14 years experience
with the National Vehicle Leasing Association (NVLA), where he is currently
executive director.
The IADMA is a dealer-controlled alliance established to give its member
dealers a competitive, national presence on the Internet. As the exclusive
dealer organization partnering with the automotive e-commerce site
DriveOff.com, IADMA member dealers deliver vehicles for all closed sales
originating from the web site. The IADMA's purpose is to unify dealers and
provide them with resources and information to increase online car sales.
"I saw a tremendous opportunity with the IADMA," said Couts. "We are
actively signing dealers nationwide and expect to have 1,000 dealer groups
involved by year end. Rather than putting auto dealers at the mercy of
Internet web sites, the IADMA is designed to give dealers the power to
successfully incorporate true automotive e-commerce into their dealership."
"As a charter member of the IADMA, I am pleased that the organization
brought on an executive director with such demonstrated leadership skills and
experience," said L.G. Chavez, executive vice president of the Denver-based
Burt Automotive Network. "Rod's reputation in the industry and experience at
the NVLA will be a tremendous asset to the IADMA."
Couts is a Certified Vehicle Leasing Executive and served as the executive
director of the NVLA since 1993. In this position he developed and managed a
nationwide federal legislative monitoring program and represented the agency
before the Federal Reserve Board, Federal Trade Commission and numerous state
governmental agencies. Couts is a graduate of Wright State University and
currently resides in San Francisco with his wife, Linda.
