Thrifty Adds 44 Locations in Europe, the Middle East, the Caribbean, Latin America and the South Pacific

    TULSA, Okla., July 19 -- Thrifty Car Rental is solidifying
its global presence with the addition of 44 new locations in the United
Kingdom, Mexico, and eight other European, Middle Eastern, Latin American,
Caribbean and South Pacific countries.
    Fourteen of this year's new Thrifty locations are in the United Kingdom,
bringing the total there to 65.  Four of the new sites are in London -- in
Ealing, Eltham, Hendon and the West End.  Other new territories include
Brighton, Northampton, Sheffield, Worcester and downtown Oxford.
    "We are extremely pleased with the way our international markets continue
to develop," said Todd Shackelford, Vice President of the company's
International Department.  "Thrifty has been expanding rapidly into new
markets in recent years, and we're now positioned to accelerate development
within our international markets as well as continue our expansion into new
territories," he said.
    Thrifty has added 14 Latin American locations, including nine in Mexico
and four delayed openings in Honduras following Hurricane Mitch last November.
    Thrifty's nine new Mexican locations include key border, commercial and
tourist destinations.  Thrifty opened both in-terminal and downtown locations
in Mexicali, an in-terminal location in Hermosillo, three hotel facilities in
Puerto Vallarta, a downtown location in Monterrey, an additional neighborhood
location in Mexico City, and a facility at the Westin Brisas Hotel in Ixtapa.
Thrifty now has 38 rental locations in Mexico.
    In Honduras, Thrifty is now open in-terminal at San Pedro Sula and
Tegucigalpa airports, with other locations serving the Comayagua airport and
downtown Tegucigalpa.  In Panama, Thrifty is open in-terminal at Chiriqui
International Airport in David.
    In the Caribbean, Thrifty has opened in St. Kitts and Nevis, with airport
locations on both islands, downtown locations in Basseterre, St. Kitts, and
Charleston, Nevis, and facilities at the Ocean Terrace Inn on St. Kitts and
the Four Seasons Resort on Nevis.
    In Egypt, Thrifty opened five new locations this year -- airport-serving
facilities at Cairo, Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh and neighborhood locations
in Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh.
    Other new international Thrifty locations serve the airport in Barcelona,
Spain, as well as non-airport facilities in Krakow, Poland; Riyadh City and
Al-Kharz, Saudi Arabia; and Nadi, Fiji Islands.
