Durel Achieves QS9000 Registration, Reaffirms Commitment To Automotive Industry
    DETROIT, July 15 -- An important milestone for Durel was
announced today by Chris Shol, Sr. Sales and Marketing Manager, Durel
Corporation.  "Durel has achieved QS9000 registration for its North American
operations," Shol stated.  "This validation and certification of our quality
systems to automotive quality standards demonstrates Durel's long term
commitment to the automotive market.  The QS9000 certification performed by
DNV Certification also compliments Durel's ISO-9001 registration which was
achieved in September of 1997," Shol concluded.
    Durel Corporation, headquartered in Chandler, AZ, is a global supplier to
the automotive industry and is a leading manufacturer of electroluminescent
(EL) backlighting systems for the timepiece and wireless product markets.
Automotive applications include instrument cluster, radio/climate control
