UNOVA Elects Larry D. Brady President and Chief Operating Officer
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif.--July 15, 1999--UNOVA Inc. Thursday announced that Larry D. Brady will join the $2 billion industrial technologies company on August 2 as its president and chief operating officer.Brady had been president of FMC Corp. in Chicago until June of this year.

Brady became president of FMC in October 1993 after serving as executive vice president from September 1989. He was also elected to FMC's board of directors in September 1989.
Brady joined FMC in 1978 as planning director for the Special Products Group, became manager of the Food and Pharmaceutical Products Division in 1979, headed the Citrus Machinery Division from 1981 to 1982, and served as general manager of the company's Agricultural Chemical Group from 1983 to 1988. In 1984, he was also elected vice president of the corporation.
Brady became head of Corporate Development at FMC headquarters in 1988, and assumed responsibility for the company's FoodTech, Transportation Equipment and Energy Systems groups in 1989. Prior to joining FMC, Brady held senior management positions at TRW Inc. and Beatrice Foods Co.
As UNOVA's president and chief operating officer, Brady will be responsible for the company's two business segments -- Industrial Automation Systems and Automated Data Systems.
UNOVA's Industrial Automation Systems segment has become North America's leading manufacturer and integrator of manufacturing systems for the global metalworking industries and has expanded into composite processing technologies. The company's Automated Data Systems segment is the second-largest competitor in the growing global market for data collection networking technology.
Brady, 56, received a bachelor of science degree in engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and is a Baker Scholar from Harvard Business School, Boston, where he earned his master of business administration degree. He serves on the board of Tenneco Inc., the advisory board of Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, and the board of trustees of the National Merit Scholarship Corp. He is married, and his two children are pursuing their own professional careers.
