Wheels Named Preferred Supplier by Abbott Laboratories

    DES PLAINES, Ill., July 13 -- Wheels, a leader in fleet
vehicle management, has received a Preferred Supplier Award from Abbott
Laboratories , Abbott Park, Illinois, a status that was awarded to
only 24 of the company's 7,000 suppliers.
    The award, for exceptional capabilities, service and value, was given by a
committee comprised of representatives from purchasing and fleet management
and based on nominations by Abbott's Travel and Fleet Group.
    "We think that Wheels is a prime example of a well-run company that offers
exceptional service," says Rich Grueter, Purchasing Agent at Abbott.  "The
client service staff is excellent."
    Abbott's Preferred Supplier Award has been in place for seven years, but
Wheels is new to the program.
    Wheels Inc., which pioneered the concept of auto leasing in 1939, provides
a full range of specialized services to help corporations manage their fleet
vehicles.  Wheels, which has 550 employees, manages more than 180,000
vehicles.  Its holding company, Frank Consolidated Enterprises, currently
ranks as one of the largest private companies in the U.S., with more than
$1 billion in revenues.
