Best-Ever June Sales Reported By Lexus Central Area

    CHICAGO, July 12 -- Lexus Central Region dealers posted
record sales in June of 2,594 vehicles, a 28 percent increase over June 1998
when 2,035 were sold.
    The RX300 sport utility vehicle accounted for 1,101 sales, a 68 percent
increase.  The LX470 premium sports utility vehicle totaled 216 sales, a 61
percent increase.
    The ES300 continued to be the best selling Lexus sedan, with sales of 655
versus 627 in June 1998.
    "Lexus enjoyed the best June ever in its history due to strong consumer
confidence," said Nancy Davies, area manager for the Lexus Central Area.  "The
Lexus sales momentum across the Midwest is exceptionally strong.  Our dealers
are confident their strong sales numbers will continue for the remaining half
of 1999.  With year-to-date sales of 14,789 versus 10,580 in 1998, the Lexus
Central Area is up 40 percent over last year's record sales."
