Ford Motor Company and Intelisys Complete Their First Internet-based Procurement Transaction in United Kingdom

    NEW YORK--July 12, 1999 --

Intelisys Hires Andersen Consulting Veteran to Extend European Presence

Intelisys, a global leader of Internet procurement solutions, today announced its first-ever procurement transaction over the Internet in the United Kingdom. Using only the Internet and Intelisys' global i-Procurement solution, Ford Motor Company put aside traditional paper catalogs and purchased critical medical supplies for the company's occupational health department online from Philip Harris Medical, an Intelisys-enabled e-commerce supplier. From requisition to payment, the entire transaction took place over the Internet.
Using a procurement infrastructure compliant with OBI standards, Ford continues the global deployment of Intelisys' system that will connect 3,000 to 5,000 suppliers to the Company, helping to streamline its purchasing process, leverage global contracts, enhance supplier relationships and significantly reduce costs. Ford will next integrate its i-Procurement solution, Intelisys' IEC-Enterprise v3.0, in Australia.
Further demonstration of Intelisys' commitment to meeting the global i-Procurement needs of its clients is the appointment of industry veteran Jill Wyman as Managing Director for Europe. Formerly an Associate Partner at Andersen Consulting, Wyman has spent the last 13 years concentrating on the communications and high-tech industries. Based in London, Wyman will focus on demonstrating the value of i-Procurement and the Intelisys model to European business leaders.
"Evidenced by Ford's landmark transaction this week, Intelisys sees great opportunity for growth in Europe," said Lloyd O'Connor, CEO of Intelisys. "Adding Jill to our management team is a natural extension of our commitment to global development. Her deep industry knowledge and worldwide experience will ensure Intelisys remains a global leader in the development of business-to-business e-commerce systems."
