Budget Group, Inc. Deploys InterAction Employee Self-Service Applications from Interlynx
BOSTON--July 12, 1999--speeds benefits administration at hundreds of
Budget Group-owned locations nationwide
Interlynx Technology, a leading provider of Web and interactive voice response (IVR)-based employee self-service (ESS) applications for human resources, today announced that Budget Group, Inc., the parent company of Budget Rent a Car Corporation and Ryder TRS, has implemented InterAction(tm), the self-service product developed by Interlynx.
Budget Group is using InterAction to automate employee benefits administration enterprise-wide, including both annual open enrollment and benefits changes associated with life events.
"Due to acquisitions, Budget Group's employee population mushroomed from about 5,000 to over 10,000 people," said Karen Petersen, manager, HRIS for Budget. "At the same time, we revamped virtually all of our benefits programs. Suddenly, we found ourselves only two months away from annual enrollment. The need for employee self-service was clear, but the timetable was frantic. Thanks to a quick implementation of InterAction, we were able to meet our seemingly impossible deadline."
Budget Group's entire workforce at hundreds of locations nationwide use InterAction to take ownership of their own medical, dental, disability, and life insurance benefits data. By leveraging self-service to automate benefits enrollment, Budget Group will save time and money, improve data integrity and free HR staff to perform higher-value tasks.
"We talked with several other vendors, including large players, and consulting firms," continued Ms. Petersen. "They wouldn't even entertain the thought of such rapid implementation. Interlynx was the only company with a product that could do the job. Their command of PeopleSoft and HR processes is also very impressive."
Typically, companies have had to build their own HR self-service applications or outsource the job to consultants and systems integrators. This can be complex and time-consuming. Interlynx has streamlined self-service implementation by developing InterAction, a packaged product that includes 23 employee self-service, manager self-service and HR service center applications.
"It was truly amazing. Budget Group gave the green light in September and by Thanksgiving the entire workforce was using InterAction for high volume, transaction-processing applications," said Stephanie Carbonetti, managing consultant for the Revere Group, the technology solutions firm that assisted in implementing InterAction for Budget Group. "Aside from offering a great product, Interlynx staff was a delight to work with."
"We certainly think InterAction is the most comprehensive, self-service product available in the market today," stated Michael George, president and CEO of Interlynx Technology. "The speed of implementation at Budget Group clearly illustrates one of the many advantages of this product. Benefits enrollment is one of the most complex self-service applications and we encourage companies to start their projects early to allow adequate time. The completeness and flexibility of InterAction allowed us to get this done very quickly and required minimal involvement of Budget Group resources - InterAction contributed to the resounding success of this implementation."
