Best-Ever June Sales Reported by Toyota's Cincinnati Region
    CINCINNATI, July 9 -- Toyota's Cincinnati Region posted
best-ever June car sales of 7,760 vehicles, a two percent increase over June
1998 when sales totaled 6,732.
    "Our North-American built Toyota Sienna contributed to the Region's
best-ever June," said Mike Reding, general manager of the Cincinnati Region.
"Sienna posted a 26 percent increase over last June."
    Combined car and truck sales totaled 9,422, a nine percent increase over
8,650 vehicles sold in June 1998.
    Toyota's new entry into the full-size truck market, the Tundra, had
impressive sales of 626 units.  The Tundra posted the highest sales debut for
any new Toyota or Lexus vehicle.  Built in Princeton, Indiana, the Tundra's
official on-sale date was June 1.
    "The Cincinnati Region dealers had a Spring sales effort, buoyed by a
continuing strong economy and consumer confidence," Reding added.
    The Toyota Cincinnati Region includes 118 dealers in Ohio, Kentucky,
Tennessee and the Lower Peninsula of Michigan.
