Ford Motor Company Re-Launches Highly Interactive Educational Website for Consumers
    DEARBORN, Mich., July 8 -- Ford Motor Company today
announced the re-launch of its "Better Ideas" website with all new features
and capabilities.  The site -- accessible from http://www.ford.com -- fully exploits
state-of-the-art interactive graphics and sound to deliver educational content
to consumers in an exciting and entertaining fashion.
    Better Ideas is an online destination where users can learn and interact
with information that covers three vital areas: vehicle design and technology;
Ford Motor Company's environmental innovation and activity; and safety and
security.  The site now can be accessed in both high- and low-bandwidth
versions.  The high-bandwidth version gives users a stimulating sound
experience with an original electronic score composed by the "Godfather of
Techno," Derrick May of Detroit.
    The Better Ideas site is an interactive breakthrough for Ford Motor
Company.  Employing new uses of Macromedia's Flash technology, Better Ideas
has been honored as their "Site of the Day."  Macromedia is a leading provider
of Internet tools and technologies.
    "The edgy look, feel and sound make Better Ideas an exciting experience,
but for users, content remains the bottom line.  There's a wealth of knowledge
here including driving and child safety information.  You can also help keep
the environment safe by learning how to reduce the environmental impact of
vehicle emissions," said David Sanabria, New Business Development Manager,

    In the Design and Technology area, users can learn about new and future
vehicle features such as adjustable brake pedals and accelerator pedals.  The
reverse sensor is also demonstrated to show visitors how the sensor can help a
person drive more safely while in reverse.
