TRACKS: CARQUEST Auto Parts to Present Big Fall Finale September 11-12 at Lebanon Valley

9 July 1999

WEST LEBANON, NY-With the arrival of summer and the hot temperatures it is
hard to imagine that in two months we will be seeing the end of the 1999
racing season at Lebanon Valley. Lebanon Valley Speedway and CARQUEST Auto
Parts proudly present the KINGS 200 Weekend September 11th-12th. With two
full days of competition fans will get to see plenty of great racing action
on the high banks. Five divisions of racecars will be on the card highlighted
by the CARQUEST NATIONAL 200 for big block modifieds on Sunday.
The action starts off on Saturday as SARATOGA SPRING WATER presents
THE RACE OF KINGS for 358 modifieds. This 100-lap event brings in the best
358-modifieds drivers from all over the northeast. This is one of the last
chances to get qualified for the 358-Modified Championship race at Super Dirt
Week, with several spots being handed out it is sure to bring out full field
of 358-modifieds. This race is also part of the HOOSIER TIRE, SUNOCO RACE
FUELS, MR. DIRT 358 MODIFIED CHAMPIONSHIP TRAIL. The Lebanon Valley sportsman
will also run on this great night of racing action. Chris Kokosa is one of
the drivers that always seem to shine in the fall and will definitely be a
contender this year. Also on hand Saturday there will be a Street Stock
Invitational. The pits will open at 11:00 am on Saturday. The spectator gates
will open at 2:00pm. Heat races will start at 4:00 with the first feature
scheduled to start by 7:30.
The action will intensify on Sunday as the big block modifieds take
center stage for the CARQUEST NATIONAL 200. This will be one of the first
stops on the HOOSIER TIRE, SUNOCO RACE FUELS, MR DIRT MODIFIED CHAMPIONSHIP
TRAIL. The biggest names in DIRT Motorsports will be on hand for this
grueling 200-lap event. This race requires a lot of strategy in that a pit
stop is mandatory in this race. When you consider that most of the races run
on the DIRT circuit are less than 50-laps pit stops are not necessary. Also
the racecars cannot carry enough fuel to go the whole 200-laps at Lebanon
Valley. Last year, Kenny Tremont, won the Lebanon Valley 200 for the first
time in his career capping off a fantastic season at the Valley. Tremont is
hotter than ever this year and certainly will be a favorite come race day.
The HOOSIER TIRE, SUNOCO RACE FUELS MR DIRT SPORTSMAN CHAMPIONSHIP
TRAIL will also be on hand Sunday for their annual 30-lap race. Many of
tomorrows DIRT stars can be seen competing in the sportsman division. All the
gates open at 10:00 am on Sunday with the first heat race to start at 1:00pm
