GNB Technologies Announces Price Increase

    ATLANTA--(AutomotiveWire)--June 7, 1999--GNB Technologies, one of the world's leading manufacturers and recyclers of lead-acid batteries, today announced a price increase for certain batteries beginning August 1, 1999.
    The increase, approximately 5% on a wide variety of products, covers all batteries that are sold through GNB's Field Sales and Operations Group, the company-owned sales and distribution network. The increase does not include Champion(R) Performance Series(tm) products.
    "Continued increases in the cost of doing business, along with market conditions, have necessitated this price increase," explained T.J. "Increases in labor and material costs affect our ability to provide our customers with the world class products and services they expect from GNB. This increase allows us to continue our commitment to provide our customers with the high-quality products and services they have come to expect from GNB, while reinforcing our commitment to employ the industry's best trained sales and service staff. In addition, it will enable us to maintain and expand our efforts to produce our products using the most efficient and environmentally friendly equipment and processes."
