Auto Parts Distributors Trade Legwork for Keystrokes to Close Sales
AUSTIN, Texas--July 7, 1999--Among Multiple Stores, Boosts Connectivity to Service Dealers
Starting today, auto parts distributors with stores in different locations can eliminate time-consuming legwork and get parts to customers in a few easy, electronic steps.
With one Triad Prism(R) 8.0 computer system from CCI/Triad and terminals in each of its stores, a parts distributor can now quickly search another location's inventory and complete a sale with just a few simple keystrokes.
"Parts distributors told us repeatedly about the loss of productivity in tying up two counter people at two stores to make one sale," says Tom Webb, Product Marketing Manager for the Triad Prism system. "With our new Triad Prism feature called Streamlined Interlocation Transactions, counter personnel no longer have to pick up the phone and wait for help.
"With one keystroke, a counter person at one store can search the inventory at another store in a different location," he says. "If the part's there, the counter person simply types in shipping instructions to complete the sale. Everyone stays productive and the sale is closed quickly."
With its new interlocation feature, the Triad Prism 8.0 system automatically generates a purchase order at the store ordering the part. An invoice with one of three shipping instructions -- hold for customer pick-up, ship to the customer, or ship to the store that ordered the part -- is automatically generated at the store stocking the part. Parts distributors who tested the software prior to today's release gave high marks to the improved efficiency and paper-trail accountability resulting from Streamlined Interlocation Transactions.
Triad Prism Release 8.0 not only improves electronic connectivity between parts stores, it also offers connectivity to service dealer computer systems such as CCI/Triad's ServiceExpert(R) EZ and CCI/Triad ServiceEstimator(TM) II systems. With the new Triad Prism system link to these service dealer systems, parts distributors can now receive electronic orders from service dealers, speeding up the sales process and reducing errors associated with telephone orders.
"New Triad Prism 8.0 features including Streamlined Interlocation Transactions and connectivity with service dealer systems will help our Triad Prism clients stay on the leading edge of the automotive aftermarket," says Webb. "Parts distributors continually tell us about their profitability with the system's state-of-the-art sales analysis and automated operations tools. With the new enhancements, they can really watch their business take off."
The just-released Triad Prism 8.0 system will complete its national roll-out by the end of the year. For Triad Prism system information, call 1-800-808-7423.
