Daewoo Continues Aggressive Expansion in June

    COMPTON, Calif., July 2 -- Sales of Daewoo automobiles grew
28% in June versus May 1999 as Daewoo aggressively expands its sales network
in the United States.
    Daewoo Motor America announced sales of 3,237 units for the month of June.
The company sold 785 Lanos sub-compact models; 995 Nubira compact models and
1,457 Leganza mid-size models during the 26-day sales period.
    Daewoo Motor America now has a total of 77 retail sales outlets; 31
company-owned retail stores and 46 franchise dealers.  The company will
continue to actively open company-owned stores and franchise independent
dealers.
    Daewoo Motor America is the U.S. automotive sales arm of Daewoo Group
based in Seoul, South Korea.
