Pirtek Metropolitan Detroit Opens In Madison Heights, Michigan

ROCKLEDGE, Fla.--July 1, 1999--Pirtek USA, the premier on-site hydraulic hose delivery and installation service in the nation is announcing the opening of its newest location, Pirtek Metropolitan Detroit.
Its President, Eli Dorfman, will oversee the daily management of sales and operations of the Hose Service Center as well as Mobile Sales & Service Units (MSSU's).
Pirtek, one of the nations few industrial franchises, sells, installs and repairs specialized hoses and fittings for companies that rely on hydraulic, fluid power, or air systems. "Pirtek stands out as the leader in service! One hour response and a 24 hours a day 7 days a week service are truly needed in the era of downsizing. The Pirtek system is synonymous with terms like "outsourcing" and "just in time," Says Dorfman. "This company offers specialized service options for the most prompt, quality service possible."
The Hose Center is a 3500 square foot warehouse that provides over-the-counter service. It also acts as a base for the radio dispatched Mobile Sales & Service Units, which give Pirtek the ability to provide a high level of 24-hour customer service usually responding within one hour, regardless of the time or day of the call. The market for hydraulic components in the U.S. alone is estimated to grow from $4 billion to $11 billion in the next ten years. The Detroit, MI market for hydraulic hoses and fittings has always been a hot spot with high levels of industrial production, which surround the "Big Three" automotive production facilities. General and residential activities (such as: construction and earthmoving, road building, trash removal, drainage and sewer, as well as other infrastructure development) can also benefit from the unique on-site service that is provided. Previous to Pirtek Metropolitan Detroit, Dorfman was involved in the Meat Processing industry. His Sales and Marketing experience along with his desire to exceed customer expectations will serve him well in the Detroit marketplace. Trained as a Mechanical Engineer, Eli is well suited for understanding the problems of modern industrial operations.
Tim Wesbey, Director of Marketing for Pirtek USA, is excited about having Eli aboard in Detroit. "When we discussed the Detroit options with Eli, we were very impressed with his quick knowledge of the high level of service required in today's environment. Eli will be the cornerstone of our development in Detroit and we look forward to watching him grow the Detroit market." Dorfman has his sights set on numerous locations around the Tri-county area. "We are already servicing the entire Tri-county market, but will increase our efficiency for our customers by opening new hose centers throughout the area, " Says Dorfman.
Pirtek, a derivative of Pirelli Technology (a large tire and rubber manufacturing company), began in Australia in 1980, expanded to the UK in 1990, and entered the U.S. market when Pirtek USA became the master franchisor in 1996. Pirtek Internationally has over 170 centers in nine countries. Pirtek USA currently has eight operating franchises in the U.S., and plans to open four more by the end of 1999. That pace will increase slightly over the next few years, until the company reaches an optimum opening rate of 18-20 units per year.
