Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. Announces Management ChangesTORRANCE, Calif., June 30 -- Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. (TMS) today announced additional management changes in sales and operations, as well as a mainstreaming of the New Era Business Group into TMS functional departments. The changes are effective July 1. At the company headquarters in Torrance, Calif., the following changes will take place: John Kramer, formerly corporate manager of distribution operations, is appointed corporate manager, private distributors. Kramer coordinates with Southeastern and Gulf States Toyota to maximize sales, market penetration, and customer satisfaction. He reports to Don Esmond, group vice president and general manager, Toyota Division. Bruce Ertmann, formerly general manager, Kansas City Region, is appointed to corporate manager, field operations -- Customer Service Division (CSD). Ertmann is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of service and parts activities between TMS and the region and private distributor offices, including dealer development and warranty activity. Jim Melton is appointed corporate manager, sales administration and will report to Alan DeCarr, vice president, sales, Toyota Division. In his previous position, Melton was Lexus area manager, Southern. The following changes are planned for the Toyota Regional and Lexus Area offices: James Lentz, formerly general manager of the San Francisco Region, is appointed general manager, Los Angeles Region. In this new position, Lentz is responsible for directing the sales, service, parts, marketing, and customer relations activities for Southern California Toyota dealers. Randall Pflughaupt, formerly national sales and production analysis manager is promoted to general manager, San Francisco Region and replaces Lentz. Pflughaupt, who has been with Toyota since 1982, works with associates and the dealer body, which includes 58 dealers in Northern California, to implement Toyota's policies and procedures. James Colon, has been promoted from assistant general manager of the Portland Region, to general manager, Portland Region. Replacing Colon as assistant general manager, Portland Region, is David Depew, formerly field operations manager, Cincinnati Region. Depew will coordinate all phases of regional operations and administer corporate policy for all departments. Paul Holdridge has been promoted from assistant general manager, Kansas City Region to general manager, Kansas City Region. Holdridge replaces Bruce Ertmann. Replacing Holdridge as assistant general manager, Kansas City Region is David Pina, formerly customer service operations manager, Los Angeles Region. Within the Lexus organization, former assistant area manager, Southern Region, Mark Templin is promoted to area manager, Southern. He replaces Jim Melton. Ed Laukes, formerly area sales manager, is promoted to assistant area manager, Southern, replacing Mark Templin. As the mission of the New Era Business Group is mainstreamed into company operations, five executives will be given new responsibilities. Nancy Fein, formerly corporate manager -- sales process team, New Era Business Group is now customer relations operations manager, Los Angeles Region. Fein will oversee all areas of customer relations support including technical support and customer service support. She replaces Dave Pina. Michael Rouse, formerly corporate manager -- communications process team, New Era Business Group is appointed corporate manager, customer relationship management. He reports to Dave Illingworth. Bob Skiles, formerly corporate manager -- fulfillment process team, New Era Business Group is appointed corporate manager, distribution operations, replacing John Kramer and reporting to Al Cabito. Neil Swartz, formerly corporate manager -- service process team, New Era Business is now corporate manager, Business Support Services. Swartz reports to Dudley Hawley and replaces Sue Forese, a valued long-time associate, who resigned to relocate to the Washington, D.C. area. Brad Larsen, formerly national manager, e-commerce retail development, will join the new e-commerce group in Strategic Planning and Development.
