Toyota Announces Promotion Of Patrick Nepute, General Manager/General Counsel

    ERLANGER, Ky., June 28 -- Toyota Motor Manufacturing North
America, Inc. (TMMNA) recently promoted Patrick Nepute to General Manager and
General Counsel of the Legal department.  TMMNA is located outside of
Cincinnati in Erlanger, Ky., and serves as Toyota's headquarters for all of
the company's North American manufacturing operations.
    Nepute was formerly Assistant General Manager/General Counsel of the Legal
department at TMMNA.  He joined Toyota in 1992 at Toyota Motor Manufacturing,
Kentucky, Inc. in Georgetown.  In his new position, Nepute is responsible for
managing legal affairs for Toyota's manufacturing operations in the U.S. and
Canada.
    Originally from Louisville, Ky., Nepute earned his bachelor's degree and
his law degree from the University of Louisville.
    Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America, Inc. is the headquarters and
parent company of Toyota's wholly-owned manufacturing companies in the United
States and Canada.  Those companies include: Toyota Motor Manufacturing,
Kentucky, in Georgetown, Kentucky; Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana, near
