Delphi Names Aftermarket Director
    TROY, Mich., June 25 -- Delphi Automotive Systems
today announced Louis R. Merz has been named global director of sales and
marketing, aftermarket.  The announcement was made by Frank A. Ordonez,
director of aftermarket.
    "Lou brings tremendous knowledge of the aftermarket, and the relationships
he's built with customers, vendors and trade associations throughout his
career will be an important asset as he leads our global growth effort in this
important business segment," said Ordonez.
    Merz joins Delphi with more than 30 years of experience in the aftermarket
industry.  Previously, he was group president of MascoTech, Inc. based in
Taylor, Mich.  Before joining MascoTech, Merz served as senior vice president
marketing for Moog Automotive, Inc. in St. Louis, Mo.  Merz has also held the
positions of president of BWD, Inc. an Echlin, Inc. company, and president,
Automotive Parts Division of Borg-Warner based in Chicago, Ill.  His
experience includes the creation of aftermarket portfolios via acquisition,
global operations, product development and management, and the development and
installation of operating systems.
    Merz received a B.S. in industrial engineering and a M.B.A. from
Washington University.  He is currently vice chairman, Automotive Service
Industry Association (ASIA) and second vice president, Automotive Sales
Council.
