Tradition Continues at Monterey Historics

With the 1999 Monterey Historic Automobile Races just around the corner, Laguna Seca Raceway is gearing up for another exciting race weekend, August 27 - 29. More than 350 vintage cars have recently been accepted to compete, affording racegoers the opportunity to catch a glimpse at some of the finest racing machines in the world.Among the early highlights are the 1915 Stutz Squadron (ex-Earle Cooper car) entered by the Petersen Automotive Museum, a 1935 Alfa Romeo 8C-35 GP and 1959 Aston Martin DBR1 which will be reunited with Stirling Moss. Also on hand will be numerous Jaguar C-types and Ferrari 250 Testa Rossas, 30 Trans-Am cars and 32 historic Formula One cars.
Gracing the paddock will be an elaborate Audi Tradition display featuring rare Auto Union race cars. Here, visitors will be treated to the only surviving all-original V-16 Silver Arrow valued at more than $8 million amidst a wide array of classic Audis from every era and the all-new LeMans 8 race car.
