Moldflow Named as Solid Edge Premium Member

LEXINGTON, Mass.--June 24, 1999--Moldflow Corporation announces today that it has become a premium member of the Solid Edge Voyager Program from Unigraphics Solutions Inc. As part of this program, Moldflow Part Adviser has been integrated with Unigraphics Solution's Solid Edge. Moldflow Part Adviser, which is 3-D solids based, allows part designers to determine the manufacturability of their plastic injection-molded part designs during the preliminary stages of part design.
"We are very pleased to be a part of Unigraphics Solutions' suite of products," states Ken Welch, vice president of marketing for Moldflow. "Now, Solid Edge users have an integrated tool that provides them rapid feedback on how design modifications to wall thickness, part geometry, gate locations or material selection will affect the manufacture of their plastics parts."
According to Bill McClure, director of the Solid Edge line of business at Unigraphics Solutions, "Solid Edge integration with Moldflow provides an important benefit for our current and future customers. Plastics design is an important focus for Solid Edge, and Moldflow enhances our capability to provide full solutions to the market."
This latest software integration will make Moldflow Part Adviser accessible through Unigraphics Solutions technology.
