Valeo Wins Top Prize for Creating Value in the Automotive Industry

    NEW YORK--June 24, 1999--Valeo received on June 23, 1999 the award for leading creator of shareholder value in the French automotive industry.
    The award, presented to Noel Goutard, Chairman and CEO of Valeo, at a ceremony organized by the French bimonthly business magazine "L'Expansion", honors the company with the highest Market Value Added (M.V.A.) in its sector. The ranking was performed by the consulting firm Stern Stewart.
    "The results of this ranking also show that Valeo generated a clearly positive Economic Value Added (E.V.A.) in 1998," declared Noel Goutard. "These results reinforce Valeo's strategy of profitable growth based on total Customer satisfaction."
