American Axle Appoints New Chief Financial OfficerDETROIT, June 24 -- American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings, Inc. today announced the appointment of Robin J. Adams as executive vice president and chief financial officer effective July 6, 1999. Adams, age 46, spent the last 13 years at Borg Warner Corporation and Borg Warner Automotive in a variety of senior financial leadership positions. Most recently, he was vice president - treasurer and principal financial officer of Borg Warner Automotive. Adams has broad financial experience, including company divestitures, an initial public offering and three secondary offerings. He has also worked as assistant treasurer, manager of financial planning and investments and senior financial analyst. Prior to joining Borg Warner Corporation, Adams spent 10 years working in various financial positions at Illinois Central Railroad Company. He holds a bachelor's degree from North Park University and an MBA from Depaul University in Chicago. Adams is also a certified public accountant. Commenting on the appointment, American Axle & Manufacturing's Chairman, CEO & President, Richard E. Dauch said "We are delighted to have Robin as our new CFO.
