Delphi Awarded Chassis Business in Asian and European Markets
TROY, Mich., June 23 -- Delphi Automotive Systems today
announced they have been awarded new contracts to supply brake and suspension
components, modules and systems to two vehicle manufacturers in the Asian
market and one in Europe. The value of these contracts totals approximately
US $28 million, consisting of:

    * A US $16 million brake component contract for a Japanese-based vehicle
manufacturer. Production is scheduled to begin in Thailand in 2001.
    * A US $3 million contract to supply dampers and strut modules for a
vehicle producer in India. Production will begin later this year at a Delphi
facility in Noida, India.
    * A US $9 million agreement to supply dampers and brake systems for an OEM
assembling vehicles in Europe. Initial production at Delphi manufacturing
operations in Poland and the UK will begin in 2000.

"Winning this new business is extremely important for Delphi, as it
further demonstrates we can compete successfully in the global marketplace,"
said Guy C. Hachey, president, Delphi Chassis Systems, a Delphi Automotive
Systems unit. "In addition to providing these customers with products that
meet or exceed their technology and quality requirements at a competitive
cost, we will be supplying from Delphi facilities located in the same country
or region as our customers' assembly plants. This greatly enhances our
ability to provide these customers with outstanding production support."
