Delphi Awarded Chassis Business in Asian and European MarketsTROY, Mich., June 23 -- Delphi Automotive Systems today announced they have been awarded new contracts to supply brake and suspension components, modules and systems to two vehicle manufacturers in the Asian market and one in Europe. The value of these contracts totals approximately US $28 million, consisting of: * A US $16 million brake component contract for a Japanese-based vehicle manufacturer. Production is scheduled to begin in Thailand in 2001. * A US $3 million contract to supply dampers and strut modules for a vehicle producer in India. Production will begin later this year at a Delphi facility in Noida, India. * A US $9 million agreement to supply dampers and brake systems for an OEM assembling vehicles in Europe. Initial production at Delphi manufacturing operations in Poland and the UK will begin in 2000. "In addition to providing these customers with products that meet or exceed their technology and quality requirements at a competitive cost, we will be supplying from Delphi facilities located in the same country or region as our customers' assembly plants.
