Treasurer Named at Borg-Warner Automotive
    CHICAGO, June 21 -- Borg-Warner Automotive, Inc.
today announced that Jeffrey L. Obermayer has been appointed acting treasurer
of the company reporting to John F. Fiedler, Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer. Obermayer replaces Robin J. Adams who has elected to leave the
company.
    Obermayer, 44, is Vice President of Finance and Business Development for
the company's Automatic Transmission Systems (ATS) operating group.  He has
held financial positions of increasing responsibility since joining the
company in 1982.  These positions include Controller of ATS operations in
Ketsch, Germany; Director of Financial Planning and Investments for
Borg-Warner Automotive; and Vice President and Controller of ATS.
    Obermayer received his BS degree in Business and MS degree in Accounting
from Illinois State University, and his Masters in Management from the Kellogg
School of Business at Northwestern University.  He is a Certified Public
Accountant and Certified Management Accountant.
    Chicago-based Borg-Warner Automotive, Inc. is a product leader in highly
engineered components and systems for vehicle powertrain applications
worldwide.  The company operates 54 manufacturing and technical facilities in
13 countries.  Customers include Ford, DaimlerChrysler, General Motors,
