Allied Holdings' Axis Group Announces Entry Into Canadian Remarketed Vehicle MarketDECATUR, Ga., June 21 -- Allied Holdings, Inc. announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Axis Group, Inc., has acquired four vehicle-remarketing centers in Canada from GE Capital Fleet Services. At the same time, Axis entered into a four-year agreement to process GE Capital Fleet Services' off-lease vehicles at these same facilities. This is Axis' first entry into the Canadian market. Axis purchased the assets and will continue to operate the vehicle remarketing centers located in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. At these centers, off-lease vehicles are reconditioned for resale through closed auctions to licensed auto dealers serving the geographic area around each facility. "These vehicle remarketing centers offer an alternative to off-lease vehicle disposition via traditional auctions for our customers," said Randall E. West, president of Axis Group. "We believe that we can provide higher resale value and faster cycle times for customers and focus on the specific needs of each customer. Our plans are to use the existing capacity of these facilities to expand this service to other vehicle lessors in Canada."
