Splashproof Cable-To-Cable Connector From AVX Leading the Drive to Automotive Applications; Automotive Connector Available in Two-, Three- and Four-Position Configurations

    MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.--June 18, 1999--AVX Corporation's connector division recently introduced a series of splashproof connectors developed for use in automotive underhood connections and other harsh environment applications.
    Designated the 9515 Series, the connectors are available in two, three and four-position configurations for connecting AWG#20 and AWG#22 wire sizes.
    "The 9515 Series connectors provide a robust interconnection method for medium and small signal cables in the underhood automotive environment," explained Craig Hunter, AVX marketing manager, "giving automotive systems designers a reliable and watertight connection under typical circumstances."
    The 9515 Series connectors feature 2.8mm contact spacing, and accommodate wire sizes of AWG#20 and #22 in two, three and four-position configurations. Maximum ratings are 3 Amps and 125V; with an operating temperature range from -40(degree)C to +105(degree)C. The connector's contact and pin material is phosphor bronze and the insulator body is glass-filled PBT.
