McLaren Automotive Group Restructures Management/Staff to Meet Increasing Demands of Automotive Clients
DETROIT--June 18, 1999--McLaren Automotive Group, Inc. has realigned the organizational structure of the operating staff of its two wholly owned subsidiaries, McLaren Engines, Inc. and ASHA Technologies. This restructuring has been put in place to facilitate the needs of an increasing number of Tier I and OEM clients, and their specific project requirements. Currently the combined companies employ over 75 people, of which 85% provide an engineering service.ASHA Technologies announces the appointment of Mr. Lou Infante as Chief Operating Officer, and Vice President of McLaren Automotive Group, Inc. Mr. Infante brings with him over thirty years of experience in Tier I automotive manufacturing, sales, and marketing. A team of sales and applications engineers will be put in place, reporting to Mr. Infante. Each sales/applications engineer will be given specific platform and OEM responsibilities. This new reporting structure will offer greater support and assistance as technology partners to the increasing numbers of Tier I and OEM clients utilizing GERODISC(TM) System technology.
Mr. Joe Treiber has recently been appointed ASHA Technologies' Vice President of Engineering, and will be based at ASHA's research and development facility in Santa Barbara, California. Mr. Treiber has over twenty years of experience in the field.
Mr. Thomas Hanson has joined the ASHA Technologies staff in Detroit, bringing with him thirty years of program successes in car product development. He will head the Livonia-based Application/Sales department for GERODISC(TM) technology. Both he and Mr. Treiber will report to Lou Infante.
Mr. Kenneth Black, formerly McLaren Automotive Group Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, has announced his resignation to pursue other interests effective June 17, 1999. Mr. Black had been with ASHA Corporation for the past eight years, and was instrumental in facilitating the first commercialization of the GERODISC(TM) on the 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
McLaren Engines, Inc. continues to be under the direction of Wiley McCoy as COO. Mr. McCoy also takes on the responsibility as President and CEO of the parent company McLaren Automotive Group, Inc. Mr. McCoy is supervising the addition of several new powertrain engineers and systems managers to accommodate the increased demands of several substantial recent contracts.
"Since the start of the 1999 calendar year, our contract engineering services applied time has increased over 50%. Cadillac announced it had awarded its Le Mans engine program to McLaren Engines earlier this year. The program will call for the development of a twin-turbo Northstar V8 to power its 2000 entry at Le Mans, and other endurance venues around the world. Additional contracts have been secured with Tier I, OEM, and governmental clients for on-going research and development programs. We have the managers in place and are increasing staff in both engineering and technical areas to handle these new programs," said McCoy.
