ZAPWORLD.COM Receives $100,000 Japanese Distribution Contract

SEBASTOPOL, Calif.--ZAPWORLD.COM a leading manufacturer of electric bicycles and scooters, announced today it has received a $100,000 contract from Japanese distributor Show-One Sports Inc. for the ZAPPY scooter.

The ZAPPY, manufactured by ZAPWORLD.COM, is a two-wheeled scooter that is ridden while standing. A throttle on the handlebar activates a battery powered drive system that propels the scooter up to bicycle speed. The rider can also assist the scooter by kicking. The battery lasts for several miles and recharges at any household outlet and the handlebars fold down to the size of a suitcase for easy carrying or storage.

"I'm very pleased to be able to strike a deal with ZAPWORLD.COM," said Shoichi Sasaki of Show-One. "ZAPPY is fun for all generations. Japan will be 'ZAPPED' in a big way, no doubt!"

Show-One conducts several invitation-only membership sales events in Tokyo involving swimsuits, skis, snowboards and other seasonal products. Show-One also operates two swimsuit stores in Tokyo. The company will act as an agent for ZAP in Japan and plans to launch promotional efforts through the Japanese media.

ZAP has a growing number of distributors throughout the world, including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, Portugal, Taiwan and Uruguay. Since 1994, ZAPWORLD.COM has delivered thousands of electric bikes and scooters to commuters and recreational cyclists worldwide. A publicly owned company, ZAP's stock trades under the symbol ZAPP.
