Winston West Fan Night June 19th

17 June 1999

NASCAR WINSTON WEST DRIVERS WILL SIGN AUTOGRAPHS
AT TRACK … SATURDAY, JUNE 19th FROM 6:00 - 6:30 P.M.

Irwindale, Calif. - - Get your Irwindale Speedway programs, hats, t-shirts, and
autograph books ready! ALL of the NASCAR Winston West Series driving stars entered
for Saturday night's "Irwindale 250 presented by Jan's Towing" race will be on
hand from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday night to sign autographs for fans.

"We'll set up a special area in our Chalet Village that's located directly between
the pit area and the grandstands," said track VP Ray Wilkings. "We had 31 drivers
entered as of Wenesday evening and they'll all be on hand, fresh from the 5:00
p.m. time trials, to meet and greet our fans before the big race."

Among the drivers expected to take part are Winston West defending champ Butch
Gilliland of Chino Hills, this year's point leader Mike Chase from Redding, and
1996 series champion Bill Sedgwick of Acton. Others include Mike Wallace from
Mooresville, NC, Austin Cameron of El Cajon, Ron Hornaday of Palmdale, Saugus'
Sean Woodside, Joe Bean from San Diego, Kenny Smith of El Monte, and Brendan
Gaughan from Las Vegas. "And that's only mentioning ten of the drivers … We'll
have 20 more at autograph session time," Wilkings added.

Saturday's Winston West race will be a 250 lap (125-mile) affair (by far the
longest race ever run at the new Irwindale Speedway) punctuated by exciting pit
stops for tires and fuel, something that will have not been seen at the Speedway
before Saturday night. "This track is already known for action-packed racing,
but full race NASCAR pit stops will really be something to see!"

Irwindale Speedway's spectator gates will open at 2:00 p.m. (just in time for
fans to catch the final WWS on-track practice sessions) and 2-lap qualifying
for the $107,000 race will begin at 5:00 sharp. Racing will start at 7:00 with
the exciting Ultra Wheel Spec Trucks and the Irwindale 250 blast its way into
the NASCAR record books at 8:00 p.m. There are good tickets still left for this
special evening of racing (call 626-358-1100 for yours).
