Deerbrook to Sell Non-Standard Auto Insurance in LouisianaNORTHBROOK, Ill., June 16 -- Deerbrook Insurance Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Allstate Insurance Company, announced that it began offering non-standard auto insurance in Louisiana on May 31, 1999. Deerbrook offers automobile insurance, sold exclusively through independent agents, to drivers with accidents or violations on their driving records, new drivers, and those who own exotic or high-performance automobiles. "With the entry into this market, we are on track with our aggressive expansion plan to serve more customers through independent agents," says William H. Monie, Jr., vice president of Deerbrook. Deerbrook Insurance began selling non-standard auto insurance through independent agents in mid-1995. With its entry into Louisiana, Deerbrook now offers non-standard insurance in 36 states through 13,000 independent agencies. Total U.S. premiums for the non-standard auto market are estimated to be $18 billion.
