16 June 1999
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Kalan Gold Corporation has received approval from the Secretary of State of Colorado to change its name to Multimedia Communications Inc. to reflect the new business activity of the company. KNGC will be amending its charter to effect its name change in compliance with Colorado law, Federal Securities law and relevant provisions of the charter. A wholly owned subsidiary of KNGC, Animated Electronic Industries (AEI), was awarded a contract on June 16 by Synervest (Malaysia) to implement a countrywide wireless broadband IP-based Extranet to serve the motor vehicle industry in Malaysia. The Extranet will link vehicle manufacturers and assemblers with their parts and components vendors, sales dealers and car owners. Malaysia has a motor car population of 3.45 million as of December 31, 1998. The contract, awarded on a Build, Operate and Transfer basis, will be implemented and managed by Perwimas Telecommunications, a subsidiary of AEI. Perwimas Telecommunications is the exclusive holder of a digital wireless broadband license granted by the Ministry of Energy Communications & Multimedia of Malaysia to provide a range of interactive multimedia applications and services. Wan Abdul Razak, Chairman of AEI said, "The Extranet is expected to have a catalytic effect on the use of digital broadband applications and services in Malaysia. Revenue generated by this contract is anticipated to come onstream in Q4 of 1999 with an exponential growth from year 2000 onwards when the network coverage is extended throughout Peninsular Malaysia."
