The Petromoly Racecar "A Well Oiled Machine" Triumphs At Longhorn 500
HOUSTON--June 14, 1999--This past weekend the PetroMoly racecar number 81, which is sponsored and lubricated by Worldwide PetroMoly Inc.(OTC BB:MOLY) and driven by the league's 1998 rookie of the year, Robby Unser, continued to display its superior performance at the Pep Boys Indy Racing League (IRL) Longhorn 500, held at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas. On Thursday, without any practice time and hampered by an unintentional full tank of fuel that weighed him down, Unser qualified twelfth at a speed of 211.286 mph out of a field of twenty-seven drivers. The next day at practice, the PetroMoly racecar turned in the quickest lap time of the week at 215.192 mph, a time that would have earned him the pole position the day before. Being the quickest car gained Unser and PetroMoly a lot of attention, as it required the entire field to focus on Unser's car during the Longhorn 500.
On race day the PetroMoly car methodically used its speed to move up the field and periodically lead the field in first place. While Unser was in the lead, he came in for a final pit stop and a wheel was not properly mounted in the pit due to equipment failure. On lap 157 of the 208 lap-race as Unser was speeding out of the pit area to resume his lead, to his surprise the problem wheel spun off and passed him on the track. Unser continued to drive all the way around the track with only three wheels at a speed over 120 mph. He "rolled" into the pit area again, received a forth wheel to continue the race and finished in sixth place close to one lap down from the leader.
"This was a magnificent performance on Robby's part on behalf of PetroMoly lubricants and Team Pelfrey," says Lance J.Rosmarin, President of Worldwide PetroMoly. "The race had our name all over it, and then we had the unfortunate event with the car losing a wheel; but Robby used his incredible driving skills, and put us right back in contention. I can't say enough about how proud we are of Robby. PetroMoly surely benefited from this weekend's exposure as there was an approximate 100,000 crowd turnout, and FOX Sports nationally broadcasted Robby's heroic performance."
"The PetroMoly car was running incredibly strong on Friday as well as race day, turning some of the quickest lap times," says Robby Unser."
"Overall we had a good race with one obvious situation. But the PetroMoly racecar was motivating me to finish this race. We had great strategy, with the exception of having to run a lap on three wheels. Once again, the PetroMoly formula proved its worth, and it held up perfectly all day as this track is brutal, and I love it. We also learned a lot at Indianapolis, and we put it to good use," adds Unser.

Worldwide PetroMoly, Inc. manufactures, markets and distributes high-performance lubricants for use in all types of motor vehicles, compressor engines and railroad locomotives. PetroMoly products incorporate a new patent-approved process technology called molytech(TM). These products contain stable and suspended molybdenum disulfide (moly), a hard and extremely low-friction metal, which fills in the micro-porous, crater-like surfaces of pistons, rings and cylinder walls. This creates a more efficient engine environment and prevents metal-to-metal contact, thereby reducing friction, heat and wear. Moly is a slick and powerful antioxidant, known to have the world's lowest coefficient for friction. Worldwide PetroMoly is a sponsor in the Pep Boys Indy Racing League.
