Hayes Lemmerz International Opens New World Headquarters And World Class R&D Center

    NORTHVILLE, Mich., June 11 -- To meet strong customer demand
for its technical expertise and world class products, Hayes Lemmerz
International , today announced that it will open its new global
headquarters in Northville on Monday, June 14.  Hayes Lemmerz is a leading
supplier of automotive and commercial highway wheels, brakes, suspension,
structural and other light weight components to the global transportation
industry.

    The new world headquarters building in Northville will house the Corporate
group, the North American Wheels business units and the Commercial Highway and
Aftermarket business unit.  The Company will be moving from its current
headquarters facility in Romulus, Michigan.  The Northville facility will also
include a 65,000-square-foot R&D facility with world class capabilities for
development, prototyping and testing for steel and aluminum wheels.
    This new Northville facility will complement the Ferndale, Michigan
facility that houses the Brake Components, Suspension Components and
Powertrain Components business units.  The Ferndale facility also has a
state-of-the-art R&D facility for these components and modules.  The address
