DC Takes 13 Awards at IABC/Detroit PresentationAUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- DaimlerChrysler was the only company to win two Best in Show honors for communications at the18th annual IABC/Detroit Renaissance Awards, held Thursday night in Troy, Mich. In total, the company won 13 awards for various communication programs at the event, which is held annually by the Detroit chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators. Winning Best in Show for Communications Management was the company's Day One program, an effort that pulled together communications teams in Auburn Hills and Stuttgart, as well as company communicators and employees around the world, to commemorate the birth of the new company. A media information kit about the company's concept cars -- Dodge Charger R/T, Dodge Power Wagon, Jeep(R) Commander and Chrysler Citadel -- won Best in Show for Design. In addition, DCTV, the company's satellite television network for employees swept the audio/visual category, winning Awards of Excellence, Merit and Honor. DaimlerChrysler Times, the company's employee newspaper, earned awards for print communication, feature writing and technical writing. Other winners were the company's media information kit marking the 15th anniversary of the minivan and Directions, a DaimlerChrysler Services newsletter that won two honors. IABC/Detroit is one of the largest chapters of the International Association of Business Communicators, an organization of more than 12,000 business communication professionals worldwide.
