Mercury Cougar Drives New Display at Metreon - A Sony Entertainment Center
IRVINE, Calif., June 10 -- When visitors to Metreon, the new
Sony Entertainment Center here, want to find out "the way things work," a new
Mercury Cougar will show them the way.
Lincoln Mercury's Mercury brand will be the presenting sponsor of The Way
Things Work - In Mammoth 3D, one of three fun attractions at Metreon. Mercury
will also be Metreon's automotive sponsor when the interactive entertainment
center opens later this month.
"Sponsorship of Metreon complements Mercury's innovative and expressionist
nature," said Laura Flores, Lincoln Mercury merchandising and promotions
manager. "Mercury is proud to be part of what will be a significant addition
to San Francisco, and we are excited that Mercury will have a major presence
at Metreon."
"Partnerships are essential to a positive overall guest experience," said
Kari Novatney, Vice President for Sony Development and General Manager for
Metreon. "Mercury's sponsorship of The Way Things Work - In Mammoth 3D is
helping people get a fun look at the technology of everyday living."
Mercury's presence in Metreon will be anchored by a lobby vehicle display,
as well as integration in The Way Things Work - In Mammoth 3D. Guests
entering Metreon from the Minna Street Passage will encounter "The Way a
Mercury Works" vehicle display. The cog-wheel themed display will feature a
Mercury Cougar and three integrated televisions giving patrons an
understanding of how a vehicle works and is built. "The Way a Mercury Works"
display provides an innovative visual product presence for Mercury.
The Way Things Work - In Mammoth 3D is based on the best-selling book by
architect and author David Macaulay. Guests can explore new ways of looking
at everyday technology with this three-screen, 3-D investigation of mechanics
and machinery featuring architect and illustrator David Macaulay -- and a big,
woolly mammoth!
