Data Into Action Installs Latest Data Warehouse Technology At Nissan North America
FULLERTON, Calif.--Data Into Action, a Fullerton-based computer systems integrator, Monday announced it is installing the latest in data warehouse and knowledge management technology at Nissan North America.The new system, initially installed at Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. in Dallas, allows top management to gain instant access to valuable information in a variety of report formats based on requested criteria, according to Larry Godec, senior information systems manager for Nissan North America.
"One of the major benefits of this state-of-the-art decision support software is the consistency it brings to departmental reporting," he said. "Eventually the system will be implemented throughout the company, including finance, marketing, field sales, operations and the national call center."
The new system, based on Hyperion Solutions' Essbase online analytical processing (OLAP) software, is designed to work with Nissan's Hitachi HTS41 mainframe computer, IBM's OS3/90 DB2 relational database, and a Windows NT client/server network. DIA is one of Hyperion's Gold Consulting Partners.
Nissan Motor Co. is the No. 2 auto manufacturer in Japan and has business operations at more than 10,000 locations in 187 countries. The company, known for its engineering and technology capabilities, manufactures and assembles vehicles at 22 overseas companies in 18 countries.
