NASCAR Busch Stars Race for Record Purse

Over Half Million $ Purse in `Textilease Medique 300 Presented by Advance Auto Parts'

    BALTIMORE, June 7 -- Chesapeake Motorsports Development
Corporation (CMDC) announced today that the "Textilease Medique 300 Presented
by Advance Auto Parts" will pay a record purse of $517,828.00.

    The 300 lap (120 miles), NASCAR Busch Series event is scheduled for
June 12th at the South Boston Speedway in South Boston, Virginia.  The record
purse is a substantial increase over the 1998 purse of $304,750.00.

    "We are proud of our affiliation with the South Boston Speedway and we are
excited about the record purse for this year's event.  The more than half
million dollar purse shows that the history and tradition of NASCAR short-
track racing is alive and well in South Boston, Virginia," said Chris
Lencheski, General Manager of CMDC.

    "Since we started to assist South Boston Speedway with this event, we have
seen the purses climb dramatically but at the same time we have had some fine
companies step up to sponsor these events.  Last year we had LYCOS as the
Primary Sponsor and Valleydale Foods as Presenting Sponsor and this year
Textilease Medique has taken the Primary Sponsorship and Advance Auto Parts
the Presenting Sponsorship position.  We have seen a great deal of corporate
interest in the South Boston Busch Series race," Lencheski concluded.

    Gates open for the "Textilease Medique 300 Presented by Advance Auto
Parts" on Saturday, June 12th, at 10:00 a.m. with NASCAR Busch Series practice
slated to begin at 11:00 a.m.  The MBNA Time Trials will begin at 2:30 p.m.
and Pre-Race Festivities will start at 5:00 p.m.
