e-Parcel and Toyota Introduce Toyota e-Parcel API Software

NEWTON, Mass.--June 7, 1999--Toyota Motor Corporation, the No. 1 automobile manufacturer in Japan, together with e-Parcel, LLC, the industry leader in customized software solutions for mission critical data deployment over the Internet, today announced the introduction of "Toyota e-Parcel(R) API Software".
This API (Application Programming Interface) is a software library of programmable functions developed by e-Parcel and co-branded with Toyota which allows Toyota's software engineers to easily link its new and existing communication systems to the outsourced Internet data delivery service provided by e-Parcel.
e-Parcel provides Toyota with the ability to automatically deliver data and track its progress right to the desktop and into networked systems. e-Parcel tracks in real-time, telling you the date and time the recipient was authenticated, when the recipient began receiving the data, completed receiving the data, and can even tell if the data was opened or moved after it was delivered.
"This innovative `Toyota e-Parcel(R) API Software' kit gives Toyota, as well as our vendors and partners, the ability to enjoy secure and reliable real-time delivery of data of any size and type over the Internet. With this new kit, we can easily and quickly automate the delivery of data, such as invoices, receipts, schematics, graphics and technical videos, which are fed to our legacy data processing and accounting systems." said Managing Director, Materials Control & System Planning Department, Production Control Division, Toyota Motor Corporation. "Unlike web posting mechanisms where the person who receives the data must visit and manually retrieve the data, the `Toyota e-Parcel(R) API Software' lets us deliver the data right to the recipient's desk or into their existing system without user intervention. This makes our system more reliable, a core philosophy here at Toyota."
"We are pleased to announce this co-branded API kit for it helps Toyota and its vendors link to e-Parcel's data delivery service more easily than ever," said Mr. Kobata, President & CEO of e-Parcel, LLC. "Just as outsourcing the data delivery is important, we believe shortening the integration process with an easy-to-use API kit is crucial to helping businesses reduce cost and increase profits."
e-Parcel, LLC, is the industry leader in customized software solutions for mission critical data deployment with over 20,000 corporate customers worldwide and partnerships with Compaq, Toyota, Hakuhodo, and Dai Nippon Printing.
e-Parcel was founded in 1996 as a Division of Mitsubishi and was spun off in April of 1998 and is privately owned.
